Trustee
Silas Thielmann
Kia Ora koutou. Ko Silas tōku ingoa.
Born in Germany I moved to Aotearoa age fourteen. Since then, I have built a multicultural family with my wife Sharika who is originally from India and our three sons. We love the richness and beauty that different cultures can bring to a community. We are part of the Rowley community where we have found a home.
I began youthwork at age sixteen and have a passion for equity and social justice. This led to a career in health social work. During my career I realised that equity also requires systemic change which led to further study in public health. I now believe that community led change is vital and I see Crossover Trust as a way of achieving this. I have been involved in several NGOs.
I hope that my multicultural heritage, passion for equity and training in public health and social work contributes to our goal to grow resilient young people of character.
